Metres: its children shrink on the screen as the camera draws away, as a sign in the world does, and as Roblox’s BillboardGui sized in studs does.
Pixels

Pixels: one unit of its children is one CSS pixel on the screen at
any distance, as Roblox’s BillboardGui sized in offset and Godot’s
fixed_size keep a label legible far off. It expects a parent
scaled alike on every axis, as an entity is: a turned parent
stretched on one axis skews what it holds.
